USCCLS Receives Enviro Star Award for 2002

Health Department Honors Pollution Preventers

Enviro Star 2002 Award

Allegheny County Health Department has chosen USC Citizens for Land Stewardship as one of 18 local organizations to be honored with their Enviro Star Award for 2002. The award is presented to businesses and institutions which implement voluntary pollution prevention programs that go above and beyond what is required by County environmental regulations. USCCLS was awarded two stars (out of a possible three) for providing guidance that resulted in an environmentally friendly Master Plan for Boyce Mayview Park, obtaining grants to restore the steambank and habitat along McLaughlin Run, and helping Allegheny Land Trust purchase and preserve the 78-acre Wingfield Pines property along Chartiers Creek.
